![]() ![]() Like I said, both endings are equal in my opinion. So I choose Alette to be the survivor, and always keep Rook in my memories as the hero that gave it all to protect those he loves. But it doesn't feel like a path that would lead to a happy society at the very end. going full out against those damn dredge and their leaders that caused so much death and sadness. Alette's Overwatch suits my playstyle alot more than Rook's Call To Arms, although I loved playing aggressively on the bridge to Einartoft, mostly due to that epic music when you're about to win, and part of me wants to feel Rooks grief and anger. So I go with a little bit of logic and a little bit of gameplay in mind. The ending already broke my heart with that music and the funeral-ship drifting into the afterlife. From an emotional point of perspective I can't really make a decision. both decisions seem to be bad and good at the same time. Taking all things I've read and thought about into consideration. It just means more to me and her survival was the most logical approach in my opinion. Personally I went with Alette's survival from the second I had to make a decision. Maybe Alettes lack of experience in leadership will cause things to go south in the third part. With 3 on it's way this year, we don't know the consequences of the first games ending. but let's not forget that this is a trilogy. Last but not least, the future: everyone talks about 1 and 2. Rook is a leader concerned mostly for his own people while Alette seems more like the diplomat type that wants everyone to be happy and alive, no matter who it is and what they have done. but you have to take it into consideration. I know these are mostly gameplay elements and not really rooted in character development. and while we can all understand his grief over what happened to Alette, considering you had her take the shot, to me it also indicates a darker path.Īlette's "Overwatch": Witnessing the sacrifice of her father in an attempt to end all of this suffering, she grows from a young girl that needs protection to a woman that protects others. Rook's "Call To Arms": Pillaging is definetly not an act of kindness. but I think she wouldn't mind dying in place of her father, as sad as that sounds. What I'm trying to say is, she definetly believes she could kill Bellower. For all we know, Alette might just wanna try to end it all by risking everything. she doesn't know that it only injures him slightly, allowing Juno to make him think he can be killed. but they're also both aware that it's not so easy. You really think Rook would agree to have Alette attack Bellower, out of all the possible enemies they could face on their journey? Never.Īlette is clearly capable of taking the shot, even Rook knows that. The immortal being that makes everyone sh*t their pants, even if they don't wanna admit it. Rook would absolutely trust his daughter with dealing with a tough situation. Now to the more important things, characteristics: Alette is still young and she knows a thing or two about how to deal with what's going on around her by now. ![]() And while Rook and Oddleif may come together in 2 and maybe have children later on. She's a young, caring woman with all her life ahead of her. I always picked "I had to make a hard choice" in a manner of teaching her that leading often involves making hard choices. In chapter 2, when she asks Rook why he killed those people that wanted to stop Hogun & Mogun from leaving. and watched him lead the caravan, make decisions. She learned from Oddleif, and she learned from her father. Alette isn't exactly incapable of either. While many think Rook is more valuable due do his hunter skills, his experience in leadership and his relationship with alot of these characters. Let's just get the obvious out of the way things that have already been discussed plenty: ![]()
